Listen: 'Month Of May' and 'The Suburbs' (Full Versions) - Arcade Fire

Last week we got what could only have been described as the shortest preview of a track ever from Arcade Fire, and despite its inadequacy in the length department it still sounded pretty incredible. Now both tracks are available to listen to in full and they are both gems. Listen to 'Month Of May' and 'The Suburbs' after the beep.

Listen: Flashover - Klaxons

It's finally here, after three years and a complete re-write Klaxons have finally released new material. It was definitely worth the wait. Read more and listen to 'Flashover' after the beep.

Preview Tracks: 'The Suburbs' + 'Month Of May' - Arcade Fire

A. The Suburbs
AA. Month of May

I am taking a short break and will be back on Tuesday due to pursuing my back up to music blogging. My degree. I leave you in the capable hands of Arcade Fires 30 second samples from 'Month Of May' and 'The Suburbs'. Maybe the most exciting sounding 60 seconds of my blogging life.

MP3: Piece Of String - Clock Opera

My first Hypewriter post subject has already come to fruition. Clock Opera's amazing single 'Piece Of String' is now available to download. The song highlights all the original and brilliant sides to the band. Guy Connelly's wavering vocals, with the deeper synth rhythms and razor chopped guitar leave a melody so complex and unnerving but utterly perfect. The whole song is driven by a clicked drum complementing the tune rather than dominating it leaving a perfect base for the pained lyrics to lay over. Read more, Listen and Download after the beep.

Music from 90210: Episode 21 Series 2

This weeks episode features tracks from Shout Out Louds, All-American Rejects, Parachute and White Lies. Listen to the tracks after the beep.

Video: Translation Freestyle - Chiddy Bang

Rapper is a term bandied around a lot these days and is often applied to anyone that is a singer but can't sing (eg. Akon, Flo Rida.. the list goes on). At least there is a small space in the music industry for the ones with real talent. Chiddy has just that, and in abundance. As if the pre-recorded Chiddy Bang material doesn't prove that, watch the video for his 'Translation Freestyle' in which Xaphoon Jones lays down a multitude of different tracks from Grizzly Bear to Jackson 5 for chiddy to freestyle over. Watch the video after the beep.

MP3: Wait Up (Boots Of Danger) - Tokyo Police Club

A return to "Your English Is Good" form for Tokyo Police Club. 'Wait Up (Boots Of Danger)' is a drum driven feast of indie-dance, which coupled with 'Breakneck Speed' leaves anticipation for the new album at an all time high. If that wasn't enough Passion Pit have remixed the song. Grab both MP3's after the beep and download 'Breakneck Speed' Here.

Video: Bang Pop - Free Energy

Probably one of the least serious videos you will see in a long time. The pop-rock princes Free Energy have released the "Back To School" video for 'Bang Pop'. In the video a class of school children spark a fun riot, spurred on by the Free Energy boys. Expect steamy changing rooms, disillusioned teachers and a Gorilla. Watch the video for 'Bang Pop' after the beep.

News: New Arcade Fire Coming June 1st

Hypewriter: Lissie

2010 has so far laid the Goulding-Diamandis foundations of a craze sweeping the musical world, the craze of the off the wall female singer songwriter. As well as Marina & The Diamonds have done to build on that foundation, the genre-craze is yet to find its Je ne sais quoi. In my opinion Lissie is just that. More on Lissie, including Videos and MP3's after the beep.

Review: The Temper Trap @ O2 Academy Newcastle 10/05/10

85/100 The lights have begun to go down on my first year of music (and living) in Newcastle, but the music that the Toon has to offer this month is far from being in the dark. First on my list were Temper Trap who played an electric gig at the O2 academy in Newcastle. Read the rest of the review after the beep and check out my photos from the gig here

Photos: The Temper Trap @ O2 Academy Newcastle

Here are my best snaps from the Temper Trap gig, I have to give some of the credit to their light show. These will definitely be the last pictures I will post from my not so good camera, as it has pulled the not so good move of breaking. You can see the rest of the pictures after the beep. Review coming shortly.

Stream: Band Of Horses 'Infinite Arms'

After releasing four tracks to stream, the full album is finally here. Band Of Horses really like to tease us fans. The album sounds really great, definitely a significant progression from the band. You can listen to the album at the bands website here.

Music from 90210: Episode 20 Series 2

This weeks episode features tracks from Beck, Hugo, The xx and My Favourite Highway. Read more and listen after the beep.

Stream: XXXO - M.I.A

New M.I.A....again. This time it isn't accompanied by an ultra violent political music video, yet. This track shows a potentially mainstream sounding side to the album, but don't fear as any M.I.A fan could tell you it is all relative and i'm sure another controversial move will follow. Listen to the 'XXXO' after the beep.

MP3: Butterfly House - The Coral

Their first release since 2007, 'Butterfly House' will be released on the 12/7 and you can grab the title track 'Butterfly House' over at their web home. Enjoy.

News: Carlos D leaves Interpol

Posted on Interpol's website over the weekend:

"After the completion of the album, Carlos informed the rest of us that he would be leaving the band. He has decided to follow another path, and to pursue new goals. This separation is amicable, and we whole-heartedly wish him great happiness and success. We will remain, as always, deeply respectful fans of this blazingly talented individual.

We can tell you that we have some very exciting new recruits joining us on the road. So stay tuned - we will promptly be revealing the identities of these illustrious players."

Video: Pass Out - Chiddy Bang

Tinie, HEY Tinie......take note, this is how it is done. Video after the beep.

Video: Nice Guy - We Are Scientists

What do Keith Murray on a kids scooter, confusing subtitles and squirrels have in common. This Video. After the release of 'Rules Don't Stop' and the great B-Side 'Down The Hall' I have been getting gradually more and more excited about W.A.S's third (obviously not counting crap attack) album. This song demonstrates even more We Are Scientist talent. These guys have a knack for producing great original pop-rock songs and hilarious videos. Watch the video for 'Nice Guys' after the beep.

Music from 90210: Episode 19 Series 2

Each week I watch 90210 (I know.....teenage girl at heart) and i am almost always impressed with the music on the show. I have finally got round to doing posts for each episode, albeit 19 episodes into the second series.....

This weeks episode features tracks from Free Energy, Cold War Kids and Regina Spektor. Listen and download after the beep.

Video: Mumford & Sons Live on Jools Holland

In my opinion Jools Holland's show 'Later Live' never showcases a bands live talent to its full extent, the instrumental part is never loud enough. Having said that there are a few bands which still manage to get that-Top of the Pops style, slightly embarrassed to dance-crowd moving. Mumford & Sons are one of those bands. They played my favourite song 'The Cave' and 'Roll Away Your Stone', both of which sounded great. You can watch both video's and comment after the beep.

Video + MP3: What's In It For? - Avi Buffalo

With the sort of botany you would expect in a James Cameron pic and more summery vibes than you can shake a calippo at, how could you not love this video. I''l tell you something else that is pretty you cool, you can pick up the MP3 for free. Enjoy. Download the MP3 and watch the video for 'What's In It For?' after the beep.

Hypewriter: Clock Opera

Hypewriter aims to bring you the bands destined for greater things at a time when you can go see them in small venues without paying astronomical ticket prices, allowing you to enjoy and appreciate the music these great bands are making.

Clock Opera are the band I have chosen as my first venture into my new series of posts, 'Hypewriter'. The London based four piece are a good place to start as they embody everything which I want to promote in these posts, they a great band which have potential to be even greater with the support of fans. The band are fronted by Guy Connelly (formally of The Corrections and The Fall Out Trust) and in his words make 'Chop Pop'. The genre 'Chop Pop' should, in this case be taken literally. Clock Opera take guitar riffs and everyday objects and 'chop' them up into tiny pieces, somehow putting it all back together to create the most harmonic and noise filled symphonies. Listen to Clock Opera's tracks and Remixes and Watch the video for 'White Noise' after the beep.

Newcastle Music Scene: May

It's a massive month for music in Newcastle which will culminate in the highly anticipated Evolution Festival at the end of the month. I will be writing a special Evolution preview later in the month as it will have so much musical talent on show it deserves and requires its own Newcastle Music Scene post. For now sink your teeth into the mammoth month of may (alliteration ftw).
