"If You're Breathing" - EmAy

Way back in April I introduced you to EmAy through his mash-up of the Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack and now to my ears delight he has released a new track entitled 'If You're Breathing' and you can grab it for FREE. The track is all about the lyrics, they are perfectly constructed over the stripped down piano riff and are as good as any MC out there. Check out the excellent 'If You're Breathing' and download the track after the beep.

"Stay Here" - Friendly Fires and Azari & III

Oooooo I do love a good collaboration, and I do love a good Friendly Fires track. Taken from the artistically titled "Suck My Deck" Mixtape from the band. "Stay Here" is composed by the band and Toronto based Azari and III, it has those classic synth rhythms which iced their debut album and i would have to describe it as SSSS (Some Serious Samba Shit).....made that one up, you like it? Listen to 'Stay Here' after the beep.

"Swallow It" - Brandon Flowers

A new approach for a new song I guess. Definitely not a killers song, in fact but for the voice many wouldn't have placed this on Brandon Flowers new album 'Flamingo' due out on the 6th of Sept. The song doesn't have that heavy bass line or a synth riff which made Hot Fuss so instantly recognizable, but what it lacks in The Killers traits it makes up for in its subtlety and melody. A pretty good song full of charm and innocence despite its innuendo laden title. Listen to "Swallow It" after the beep.

"No Ones Gonna Love You" (Band Of Horses Cover) & New song "Fuck You" - Cee Lo Green

In case you were wondering where you knew this guys voice from, he is the vocalist and half of the whole that is Gnarls Barkley. Now he has gone solo (again) and to great effect. His amazing cover of Band Of horses "No Ones Gonna Love You" is probably already a contender for song of the year and his light hearted "Fuck You" has some brilliantly catchy lyrics. Grab the MP3 and Check out the video for "No Ones Gonna Love You" and watch the video for "Fuck You" after the beep.

Coyote Song - Conor Oberst

I'm being spoilt by great music at the moment, and just when i thought it couldn't get any better Conor Oberst has written new material. The Bright Eyes singer and all round legend wrote 'Coyote Song' for 'The Sound Strike' currently taking place in the U.S (specifically Arizona), it's a pretty good cause so check it out. The recording itself isn't great as it is a live version from the crowd, but I knew you wouldn't wanna wait for this. Listen to 'Coyote Song' after the beep.

Otter - Mammal Club

The North East's worst kept secret is how good Mammal Club are. The complexity and maturity of their songs is such that you would probably guess they had been making music for decades. The track is so catchy I challenge you to listen to it just once, i'm not sure it can be done. Listen to 'Otter' by Mammal Club at their Myspace page

Angela Surf City - The Walkmen

After the more sombre 'Stranded' was leaked I thought these guys album wasn't going to contain that angry edgyness that "Bows + Arrows" produced so successfully, don't get me wrong it sounded great but secretly i longed for that angst ridden rock that made these guys so great. Once you have listened to 'Angela Surf City' you will see how happy I have become. Listen to the album version of 'Angela Surf City' after the beep.

Maybe I'm Crazy - Monarchy

Okay so Amazon says that these guys are releasing their self-titled debut album on Jan 1st 2011, little early then for tracks to be leaked already. But hey, I'm not complaining. 'Maybe I'm Crazy' is exactly what a pop song should be, its catchy and fun but without being patronising or poorly written. Listen to what will be one of the biggest bands of 2011? after the beep.

Wish - Still Corners (Video)

Brand spanking new bliss pop from Londoners Still Corners and a visual feast to go with it. If you like your Bat For Lashes less dark and moody then this one is for you. Watch the video for 'Wish' after the beep.

Tiger Eyes + Cecile - Live Like Lions

Live Like Lions were the first great unsigned band that I saw live since I started writing this here blog and it's great to see that the band have produced new versions of my two favourite tracks 'Tiger Eyes' and 'Cecile' along with a bit of myspace profile eye candy to go with them. Check out these two nuggets of indie-disco gold over at the bands Myspace. If you like that maybe you wanna go check my review from the gig all the way back in October '09 (Its old so.......maybe.....cut it some slack in the quality department).

Windstorm - School Of Seven Bells (Video)

School Of Seven Bells new video for the single 'Windstorm' has made its way onto my radar today and as the song and video are pretty great I recommend it makes its way onto yours. I guess i would call it Pop music but it seems wrong to lump something so unique into a pretty vague category, for that reason I'm gonna call it Bliss-Rock an entirely fabricated yet unique genre. Enjoy. Watch the video for 'Windstorm' after the beep.

Seventeen - Marina & The Diamonds (Live at The Roost)

I love it when I get to post anything by the incredible Marina, especially when i can tell you that you can download a LIVE track for FREE. 'Seventeen' didn't make the cut for The Family Jewels in the UK but did however replace the equally impressive 'Rootless' on the US release. It was one of Marina's earlier songs which some of the die hard fans may have heard in late '08, I can tell you that this slightly updated live version is just as special as those first few listens to Marina all those years ago. Download and Listen to 'Seveteen' after the beep.

Russ Chimes 'Midnight Club' EP Preview

Russ Chimes has remixed a song from just about everyone who is anyone at the moment and he has been featured on many a music blog, but none of it grabbed my attention until I watched this little snippet of material from his new EP 'Midnight Club'. Not only is the video telling what looks like a pretty epic tale, but this guy can make some pretty epic dance music. Watch the video preview after the beep.

Guillotine - Yadi

Yadi emerges from the parallels with Florence or Marina with a distinct sound which holds its own on both a catchy chorus and a booming voice. Not sure about Neon Golds La Roux comparison as she doesn't make me want to tear my own ears off but hey that's just my opinion.  She is definitely one to watch or should I say listen to. Download and listen to 'Guillotine' after the beep.
