Another great month for music in Newcastle, all venues are packed with a great line-up for March. The pick of the bunch was an easy choice really, Mumford & Sons at Newcastle Union. I was extremely excited for this gig even more so when i found out Fanfarlo are supporting them. Mumford & sons have already established themselves as one of the best new bands both on record and live, I can't quite believe my luck that they are playing such a small venue with such an excellent support band.
Despite the Mumford & Sons gig towering above the rest there are a number of big bands coming to Newcastle this month including Noisettes, Local Natives, The Futureheads and Delphic. If only i had unlimited cash flow/time.
As usual The Cluny plays host to a number of excellent local and smaller bands. The gig from the cluny which stood out for me is Birds Vs Planes with support from Polarsets and The Pilots. I have been a fan of Bird Vs Planes for a while but had never listened to Polarsets or The Pilots before. I was really impressed with both especially Polarsets who are my Local band of the month for march.
As a consolation to those of you who can't make any of these amazing gigs i have posted some goodies below. Enjoy.
Just Don't Open Your Eyes Yet - Polarsets
Then A Girl Falls In Your Arms - Polarsets
Lose The Heartbreak With Your Dancing - Polarsets
