This is probably the best mash-up I have heard this year, the two songs were clearly written for each other and the genius that is TikToxic aka Asad Naseem (youtube channel here) spotted this. Watch and Listen to 'Alejandro's Not A Robot' after the beep.
Another reason for me to feel guilty about having not seen 'Were The Wild Things Are'. It really does have a perfect soundtrack, Karen O's voice reproduces the delicacy seen on YYY's 'Maps' track after track, I can't even begin to imagine how mind blowing it is when combined with the film.
Anyway on to this track. Basically its a mix of the soundtrack done by producer Emay who's solo project will be released on Potholes In My Blog next week. It is so well done that it sounds like a single track, and a good one at that. Impressively, The drum beat and synth link together in a style which is reminiscent and equal to that of early Zero 7. MP3 is below have a listen and download. Enjoy.
There one of those bands i have a few songs by. Never scaling the heights of a full album or a prolonged interest, don't get me wrong they produce some great songs. 'This Is A Low' is one of my depressing yet motivating classics and can quite frequently stumble on to my playlist if i'm in a bad mood yet really want to get something done....Happily today is not one of those days. The new song 'We Never Close Our Eyes' is a knock back to some of the first Scanners tracks but the remix from The Angry Kids gives this band a whole a new dimension. Enjoy.
I really like rap music. It's something i don't say very often mainly because rarely does such a stand out artist appear within the genre. Recently we have been gifted with the remix/songwriting skills of Chiddy Bang, but now there is another rapper in town and guess what...he's a teacher. Yes that's right, bad'ass as he is, Kenan Bell teaches 4th, 5th and 6th graders at a private school (I'm sure that means something to you lot over the pond). In-between grading papers he writes some amazing rap songs, not only does he do that but he also produces some killer remix's from indie legends such as Pink Floyd and The Smiths....Yes I said The Smiths.
His album comes out at the end of the month but you can get hold of many of his amazing remixes around the interweb. I've picked out one of the tracks of the album and one of his best remixes of The Smiths. Also worth a listen is his Neil Diamond Remix, check it out over at his Myspace page. Enjoy.
Wow. Thats all i can say really, WOW. I tell a lie, its not really all i can say. i can say many more words than wow, including a lot which would fit a description for this amazing new song and video from Foals.
The song is such a huge leap from the bands overly jaunty first album, you can really hear the maturity in their sound. 'Spanish Sahara' starts with an eerie heart beat bass drum. The lyrics gradually flow over this creating a sound reminiscent of early Radiohead. The songs grows into itself allowing any listener to become immersed in Foals new sound and to appreciate every angle of it. The build up of the seven minutes culminates in an epic weave of drum and guitar which left me speechless and moving my cursor towards the repeat button. I have also included a remix by Mount Kimbie for you to download below. Enjoy. Spanish Sahara - Foals (Mount Kimbie Remix)
As if the album release wasn't good enough, Passion Pit have done a remix of 'Undercover Martyn'. Please........ Help.......Indie........... Overload. Download Below.
That's right, another remix of 'Hollywood'. This one is being given away on Marina's website if you join the mailing list, but anyone with any sense would have already done that......right? Anyway for those of us that already have here it is. Enjoy. Hollywood (Radioproof Remix) - Marina And The Diamonds
The new video for 'Opposite Of Adults' from Chiddy Bang is finally here and not only that there is also a 'making of' video.....they're always fun aren't they. The video itself has a pretty simple theme, basically Xaphoon Jones and Chiddy have big heads, and there big heads get put on people that can do cool stuff. Its simple but effective. The making of video is below along with Chiddy Bang's remix of the new Gorillaz song 'Stylo'. Enjoy
