"Radioactive" (Video) - Kings Of Leon

Its fair to say Kings Of Leon are the biggest rock band in the world right now, having never produced a bad album it is hardly surprising however who would have thought those long haired Taper Jean Rodeo go-ers would reach the dizzy heights they have done whilst still retaining that soulful hearty quality to their music. Their new track "Radioactive" taken from their forthcoming album "Come Around Sundown" is an unbelievably great track, its as simple as that, great riff, great lyrics, great three minutes sixteen seconds. Check out the video for "Radioactive" after the beep.

"No Ones Gonna Love You" (Band Of Horses Cover) & New song "Fuck You" - Cee Lo Green

In case you were wondering where you knew this guys voice from, he is the vocalist and half of the whole that is Gnarls Barkley. Now he has gone solo (again) and to great effect. His amazing cover of Band Of horses "No Ones Gonna Love You" is probably already a contender for song of the year and his light hearted "Fuck You" has some brilliantly catchy lyrics. Grab the MP3 and Check out the video for "No Ones Gonna Love You" and watch the video for "Fuck You" after the beep.

Wish - Still Corners (Video)

Brand spanking new bliss pop from Londoners Still Corners and a visual feast to go with it. If you like your Bat For Lashes less dark and moody then this one is for you. Watch the video for 'Wish' after the beep.

Windstorm - School Of Seven Bells (Video)

School Of Seven Bells new video for the single 'Windstorm' has made its way onto my radar today and as the song and video are pretty great I recommend it makes its way onto yours. I guess i would call it Pop music but it seems wrong to lump something so unique into a pretty vague category, for that reason I'm gonna call it Bliss-Rock an entirely fabricated yet unique genre. Enjoy. Watch the video for 'Windstorm' after the beep.

Echoes - Klaxons (Video)

This is Klaxons at their best, it reaches the dizzy heights of Gravity's Rainbow and Golden Skans, Maybe even surpassing them. As for the video it basically involves some pretty nice shots of epic desert-scape interspersed with the band playing as if all that sand was a crowd and the missing amplifiers were there. Watch the video for 'Echoes' after the beep.

The Sea - Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire (Video)

The new video from Toon starlets Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire. Expect tongue in cheek explanations of the life cycle, Salmon Sandwiches, Beaks, and Bear Costumes. Your gonna have to watch it now, Also check out Transatlanticism's review of the single HERE. Watch the video for 'The Sea' after the beep.

V For You - Las Robertas (Video)

A couple of days ago I posted the short preview of this video, and if you were impressed by that wait until you see the whole thing. Its a really artistically mature video for a small band with I'm guessing few resources. The video compliments the song well both in its tempo and general feel, It really is a feast for the eyes. Watch the video for 'V For You' after the beep.

Alejandro's Not A Robot - Marina And The Diamonds x Lady Gaga

This is probably the best mash-up I have heard this year, the two songs were clearly written for each other and the genius that is TikToxic aka Asad Naseem (youtube channel here) spotted this. Watch and Listen to 'Alejandro's Not A Robot' after the beep.

Video: Oh No! - Marina And The Diamonds

There is no doubt that Marina has made a name for herself this past year, her album is up there with the best of this year and her video's show how creative she is in all aspects of her work. Read more and watch the video for 'Oh No!' after the beep.

Video: Tom Tom - The Hundred In The Hands

I know this is a bit naughty but their bio on their website sounds so pretentiously cool I may as well use it.  THITH say "We want to make music and keep making music and we want that music to be really very good. We’re using pop-forms and structures because we like songs; Kinks songs, Beatles songs, Michael Jackson songs; absorbing the lessons of the pop classics, folding the present into the past toward the future to create dub histories; Avant-pop split between the austere and feverish. We write together. One or the other brings in the foundation of a new track or lyrics and the two of us add to it, writing as we record, offsetting the precision of electronic production with analog machines and sweat. Party music, physical music, romantic music." . Read More on the video and watch "Tom Tom" after the beep.

Video: Translation Freestyle - Chiddy Bang

Rapper is a term bandied around a lot these days and is often applied to anyone that is a singer but can't sing (eg. Akon, Flo Rida.. the list goes on). At least there is a small space in the music industry for the ones with real talent. Chiddy has just that, and in abundance. As if the pre-recorded Chiddy Bang material doesn't prove that, watch the video for his 'Translation Freestyle' in which Xaphoon Jones lays down a multitude of different tracks from Grizzly Bear to Jackson 5 for chiddy to freestyle over. Watch the video after the beep.

Video: Bang Pop - Free Energy

Probably one of the least serious videos you will see in a long time. The pop-rock princes Free Energy have released the "Back To School" video for 'Bang Pop'. In the video a class of school children spark a fun riot, spurred on by the Free Energy boys. Expect steamy changing rooms, disillusioned teachers and a Gorilla. Watch the video for 'Bang Pop' after the beep.

Video: Nice Guy - We Are Scientists

What do Keith Murray on a kids scooter, confusing subtitles and squirrels have in common. This Video. After the release of 'Rules Don't Stop' and the great B-Side 'Down The Hall' I have been getting gradually more and more excited about W.A.S's third (obviously not counting crap attack) album. This song demonstrates even more We Are Scientist talent. These guys have a knack for producing great original pop-rock songs and hilarious videos. Watch the video for 'Nice Guys' after the beep.

Video + MP3: What's In It For? - Avi Buffalo

With the sort of botany you would expect in a James Cameron pic and more summery vibes than you can shake a calippo at, how could you not love this video. I''l tell you something else that is pretty you cool, you can pick up the MP3 for free. Enjoy. Download the MP3 and watch the video for 'What's In It For?' after the beep.

Video: Truth - Chiddy Bang

Another highly watchable video from the philly double act. Good song too. Enjoy.

Video: Drunk Girls - LCD Soundsystem (Music Video?)

Not sure what to make of this......at all. Is it a music video, is it a drug induced coma, is it really a load of panda's abusing the members of LCD Soundsystem, probably all of the above. Whatever it is I couldn't take my eyes off it.

Compliments - Band Of Horses (Video Download)

As if there weren't enough bands releasing tantalisingly great new material at the moment, well now Band Of Horses have got in on the act ahead of a number of UK summer gigs. Rules Don't Stop - We Are Scientists

Hmmm. Can't quite believe this stayed off my radar for so long! Its only one of my favourite bands doing a new song, video, album! This is a tune. Anticipation for Leeds Fest rising at an alarming rate.

Newcastle Music Scene: April

Yet another great month for music in Newcastle (shame I'm not there for most of it). This month i would say the smaller bands take centre stage with three great gigs at The Cluny from 'Let's Buy Happiness', 'Toronto Sun' and March's band of the month, 'Polarsets'. I love writing this post because it allows me to listen to some of the great talent around the North East, still, rarely do I find a band I can immediately engage and enjoy as much as Let's Buy Happiness. Already building a fan base in the North East and across the UK, they play a sombre melodic style of indie reminiscent of early  Death Cab For Cutie and Band Of Horses. With intricate guitar riffs complemented beautifully by Sarah Halls enchanting voice each track has its own personality and intrigue. All i can say is that i am gutted i cannot make the gig at The Cluny. Polarsets also play The Cluny for the second month running with their single launch taking place on the 15th (which i will hopefully have a review for you nearer that date).

My gig of the month comes from Foals, who play Newcastle Union on the 30th. I have been extremely impressed with the sounds emanating from their second album entitled 'Total Life Forever'. I nearly considered posting the 'Spanish Sahara' video again as it is so mind-blowing but i restrained myself and instead you can all feast your eyes on the video for 'This Orient', another track off the much awaited album.

The O2 academy line-up is also worth a mention with some seriously old-school gigs from the likes of James and The Wonder Stuff. Enjoy this amazing month of music in our fair city and also enjoy all the goodies below.

You can listen to Let's Buy Happiness's EP entitled 'No Hot Ashes' below. Enjoy.

Rambling Man - Laura Marling (Music Video)

This album is pure gold.  Vive la Folk Revolución!
