Ever since I featured them as my band of the month way back in April I have been keeping one eye on these guys, because lets face it, they can't do much wrong. From the lyrics and artwork of vocalist Sarah Hall to the incredible new song 'Six Wolves' it all seems like good news for the lads and lass from the Toon. Check out the video for 'Six Wolves' and read more about Let's Buy Happiness after the beep.
MP3: "Helsinki Art Scene" - Satellite Stories
Since The Wombats have long since gone off the boil and I am currently on a cool-down period after over listening to the amazing Two Door Cinema Club album, I am in much need of some insanely catchy fast paced indie goodness. Luckily Satellite Stories have provided me with that, the band who hail from Finland already sound record-ready and need only one listen to get you totally hooked. Download and Listen to 'Helsinki Art Scene" after the beep.
MP3: "Runaway" - Kanye West
So this is the first track I have decided to post from Kanye's string of new releases, he played it at the VMA's so it's gotta be somewhere in his album plans right? It's a pretty chilled out track with some pretty explicit lyrics which makes for a pretty good tune. I can almost guarantee this will be removed from Soundcloud at some point, so grab it whilst its hot. Download and Listen to "Runaway" after the beep.
MP3: "Wasting Time" - Reading Rainbow
All the way from Philly, Reading Rainbow are riding the waves of that oh so successful Lo-Fi resurgence. "Prism Eyes" takes it a bit beyond Lo-Fi though, it has a pretty quick guitar riff that could almost be Strokes-esque and a Surf-Pop feel to its lyrics. whatever of those ubercool genres it fits into, its pretty good. Download "Wasting Time" after the beep.
MP3: "Proud Lovers" - Thievery
Catchy guitar pop is always a difficult skill, it can sound cheesy, it can sound tired, however once in a while it sounds like Thievery. And it sounds good. Thanks to Fucking Dance for finding this rather great tune, and thanks to Thievery for making it. Download "Proud Lovers" after the beep.
"The Good Life" - Chiddy Bang (Co-Produced by Pharrell)
This is the latest single to come from Chiddy Bang's debut album 'The Swelly Life' and is also included in the new EP originally entitled 'The Preview'. The track was produced by Xaphoon Jones and Pharrell from that little band called N.E.R.D. Check the new track out after the beep.
Review: "Flamingo" - Brandon Flowers
A solo debut album is probably the most difficult challenge in any musicians career, especially after being part of such worldwide success that was The Killers. But Brandon Flowers seems to have coped pretty well under the circumstances. 'Flamingo' is in amongst a number of solo projects from big name artists such as Julian Casablancas and Kele and much like those albums it holds true to a number of traits of the singers former band. The synths of 'Hot Fuss', the country stylings of 'Sams Town' and the bizarre pop perfection of 'Day & Age' are all in there somewhere. However I would have to say (after much consideration) this is not simply another Killers album and probably not what you were expecting. Read the rest of the review and check out my favourite tracks from the album after the beep.
Midnight Club EP (Part 3: Targa) - Russ Chimes
Part 3 in the series of short films sound-tracked by the impressive Midnight Club EP from Russ Chimes. This film contains possibly the best track on the EP entitled "Targa". Watch Part 3 after the beep.
"Radioactive" (Video) - Kings Of Leon
Its fair to say Kings Of Leon are the biggest rock band in the world right now, having never produced a bad album it is hardly surprising however who would have thought those long haired Taper Jean Rodeo go-ers would reach the dizzy heights they have done whilst still retaining that soulful hearty quality to their music. Their new track "Radioactive" taken from their forthcoming album "Come Around Sundown" is an unbelievably great track, its as simple as that, great riff, great lyrics, great three minutes sixteen seconds. Check out the video for "Radioactive" after the beep.

Download Magic Man's Album "Real Life Color"
This was one of those bands i just stumbled upon when browsing through Bandcamp as if it were a record store (flicking through all the crap until you find that hidden gem). Obviously the pretty cool cover caught my eye, but I had heard whisperings of these guys on the grapevine so I thought I would give them a listen. How pleased I am that I did. They have made a seriously impressive debut album, combining the haunting sound of Electric President whisking in some Animal Collective synth ripples and sprinkling some Local Native harmonies over the top. All together it makes a recipe for some pretty amazing indie pop....Did i go over the top with the baking metaphors? Check out the Album "Real Life Color" and download it for free after the beep.
