Not sure whether this was a good thing or not. It did put the poor covers that x factor winners release in their place, but on so many levels it has annoyed me. Here is a few reasons why;
- There are a thousand songs i would rather see at number one (not including 'the climb').
- Its not a Christmas song.
- Most people only bought it because everyone else was, so the songs whole message is now somewhat ironic.
- A lot of middle aged people now own a RATM record.
- I get the feeling that if Joe McElderry gave the money to charity and did a free concert, he probably would have got to number one.
- Everyone got there a year late! Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley could have been the greatest Christmas number one ever.
- 'Killing In The Name' isn't that good.
